Louis Becke letter and photograph, 1907.

The collection consists of a hand-written letter and a photographic portrait of Becke. The letter, 20 June 1907, is to MacAlister, and details various medical troubles experienced by Becke, his wife, and daughter. He expresses disappointment that he was not able to meet Mark Twain. The photograph, signed by Becke, is credited to Duperly, Kingston, Jamaica. A stamp on the verso advertises a reissue of Becke's works by J.B. Lippincott.
